Created for this old-school engineering company, the logo uses an icon that is an abstract of familiar engineering measuring tools. The company wanted to update their previous logo, which was angular in shape and looked similar to a ninja star. I wanted to create a more abstract and cleaner version of what they had, since their brand is historic, and they held equity in the market with their colors and general look. The logo also creates an equilateral triangle that represents strength, accuracy and precision. It is paired with a bold sans serif font to further communicate strength, but also hints to a more modern approach. The blue color was used to represent water in the area of the company’s location (for which they are named), and a gray that represents the structures that have been built under their supervision.
